Midbrod Electric was established in 1989 by Gary Midbrod, an ambitious family man from Lake Superior’s North Shore. This Stillwater Minnesota company was incorporated with a vision of providing high quality electrical services in St. Croix River Valley. By providing value, attention to detail, and quality customer service, more opportunities presented. With the growth of the company, son Krist Midbrod joined the business in 1998. Father and son worked together until Gary’s retirement, at which time the company became “second-generation”, and the responsibilities turned to Krist to continue to execute the company’s vision and support the needs local community and beyond. Building from the momentum started by Gary, and thriving on repeat business over the years, the company continues to grow. As a successful, locally owned, and operated business with a wide reach, we now hold Contractor and Master Electrician licenses in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota, and South Dakota. We have had the honor of serving as a trusted, quality Electrical Contractor for 35 years.

Today, Midbrod Electric is a well-rooted, licensed, bonded, and insured Electrical Contractor. We are uniquely qualified to provide personalized attention to large scale commercial, residential, telecommunications projects, as well as the many other services under our umbrella. By employing highly trained and licensed Journeyman Electricians, Certified Apprentice Electricians, skilled staff, and maintaining a fleet of vehicles and tools for any job, Midbrod Electric works hard for its customers.

Krist M.
PresidentKrist Midbrod serves as President of Midbrod Electric and brings 28+ years of experience in the electrical industry. As a Master Electrician licensed in multiple states, Krist has extensive experience across all types of electrical construction, with a strong background in commercial and residential installations. Krist's favorite part of the job is solving problems for customers and working alongside the talented team at Midbrod Electric. He takes tremendous pride in building a company where experienced team members can share their knowledge while helping develop the next generation of electrical professionals. Watching the company’s young employees grow and learn from veteran team members is one of the most rewarding parts of his role.
Krist enjoys spending time with his family and making memories together—whether it’s an adventure, a getaway, or simply spending a day at home. He also enjoys fishing at the lake, playing golf, and getting a morning workout in at the gym.

Vice PresidentDerek leads Midbrod Electric with a focus on quality workmanship, exceptional customer service, and building a strong team. With extensive experience in strategy and operations, he enjoys working with customers to understand their needs, solve problems, and find the right electrical solutions for their homes and businesses. Derek is passionate about growing Midbrod into a company customers can trust and employees are proud to be part of.

Office ManagerEvelyn helps keep the administrative side of the business organized and running smoothly. She specializes in customer communication, scheduling, project paperwork, and keeping projects moving forward . Evelyn enjoys building relationships with customers and being someone they can rely on, while also working alongside a team that takes pride in what they do.
Evelyn enjoys spending time with her friends and family, being outdoors, taking her dog for walks, and spending time on the river whenever she can.

Apprentice ElectricianMike primarily works on the telecommunications side of Midbrod Electric. He enjoys building strong, long-term relationships with customers and takes pride in being someone they can count on.
Mike spends much of his time coaching his son’s wrestling team and playing games with his family.
